Somali referee barred from 2026 World Cup after US entry denial
Highly-regarded Somali football referee Omar Artan was denied entry to the United States and subsequently excluded from officiating at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite holding valid credentials. Somalia has protested the decision while FIFA has remained largely silent on the matter.
